CHARLOTTE COUNTY – The Florida Highway Patrol reported a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred Sunday afternoon along State Road 776 (El Jobean Road) at the intersection of Jacobs Street in Charlotte County.
According to FHP, the crash happened on December 21, 2025, at approximately 1:07 PM, and resulted in the death of a 19-year-old motorcyclist from Englewood.

At the time of the collision, the 19-year-old man was operating a motorcycle traveling southbound on SR-776 in the outside lane, approaching the intersection with Jacobs Street. FHP reports that the motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed.
At the same time, a 39-year-old woman from North Port was driving a sport utility vehicle that was stopped in the left-turn lane on SR-776 at Jacobs Street. According to the report, the SUV proceeded to make a left turn onto Jacobs Street.
As the vehicle turned, the front of the motorcycle collided with the right side of the SUV. Following the impact, the motorcyclist became separated from the motorcycle.

What Happened After the Motorcycle Collision

The driver of the SUV and a 9-year-old passenger were not injured.
Traffic homicide investigators with the Florida Highway Patrol responded to the scene, and the crash remains under investigation. No additional details have been released at this time.
