CLERMONT, Fla. – A five-car crash in Clermont on Tuesday evening killed a woman and left two others injured, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
In a release, troopers said that the crash happened at US-27 and Greater Groves Boulevard around 4:56 p.m. There is currently a roadblock at this intersection.
In all, troopers explained that the crash involved five vehicles, including a 2017 Audi A7, 2019 Subaru Outback, a 2015 Lexus RX, a 2020 toyota Camry and a 2023 Honda Civic.
The driver of the Audi — a woman whose identity has yet to be confirmed — was airlifted to the hospital, where she later died, the release states.
Meanwhile, the driver and passenger of the Subaru were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, troopers added.
The remaining drivers were not taken to the hospital and remained at the scene, according to investigators.
“The sequence of events that led to this crash are still under investigation,” the release reads.
