A man is in critical condition after being shot “multiple” times in the early morning of Christmas Eve, Tallahassee police said.

Shortly after 3 a.m. Dec. 24, officers in the area of West Tennessee Street and Ocala Road heard several gunshots, according to an incident report.

“Moments later, a call was received after an adult male drove himself to the Waffle House, located at 1939 W. Tennessee St.,” it added. “The victim had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.”

Officers gave first aid until he could be taken to Tallahassee Memorial. The shooting victim was not identified.

Preliminary findings show he “had been shot in an apartment complex within the 2000 block of Continental Drive. This remains an open and active investigation,” police said.

The area has several apartment complexes that cater mostly to college students and is a few blocks from the Waffle House.
