Christian Hardigree, the regional chancellor at the University of South Florida’s St. Petersburg campus, is taking on a new role outside of Florida.

She has been selected as the new Texas A&M University-Victoria president.

Hardigree served as USF St. Petersburg’s regional chancellor since 2022, and was previously the dean of the School of Hospitality at Metropolitan State University in Denver, Colorado.

“As much as I love USF St. Petersburg, it has been my dream to serve as a university president,” Hardigree wrote in a universitywide email. “When Texas A&M University-Victoria offered me this opportunity, I couldn’t pass it up. But please know that this decision was not made lightly. You have become like family to me, and I will never forget the people I have met here.”

Hardigree was selected as the sole finalist for the presidency in September. Her last day at USF will be Nov. 3.
