SEMINOLE — Seminole First Friday will kick off the new year with a performance by Firefly on Friday, Jan. 2, 6 to 9 p.m., in front of Studio Movie Grill at Seminole City Center, 11201 Park Blvd. N., Seminole.

The event is presented by the Seminole City Center and The Rotary Club of Seminole Lake.

Firefly is not just a band — it’s a captivating journey through music, led by some of the most talented and seasoned musicians in the industry. This dynamic group boasts members who have not only graced the stage of “American Idol” but have also toured extensively across the country, sharing their exceptional talents with diverse audiences. Their impressive credentials include performances for American presidents, showcasing their versatility and broad appeal.

At the forefront of Firefly are two extraordinary vocalists: Genessa, famously known as the woman with a thousand voices, and Sean McDonald, a percussionist, drummer, and vocalist extraordinaire. Together, they create a unique and electrifying atmosphere, backed by a seasoned live band, that leaves audiences spellbound. Genessa’s remarkable vocal range and ability to mimic various styles and voices, combined with Sean’s powerful drumming and vocal prowess, make every performance an unforgettable experience.

Coolers are not allowed, but food and drinks will be available for purchase from Seminole City Center tenants and vendors. Attendees may bring lawn chairs. Vendors other than Seminole City Center tenants are not permitted. The event is subject to change due to weather.

Each First Friday features entertainment complemented by prize giveaways, a raffle and more. The raffle will include a $1,400 e-bike compliments of Electrified of St. Petersburg. Proceeds from the raffle benefit Seminole Lake Rotary Club’s Red Sled Initiative, as well as Irish 31 iCare Foundation and Cheers to Public Service Initiative.
