PORT ST. LUCIE – A man who entered a Port St. Lucie resident’s home was tracked down by a police K9 and its handler about 20 minutes after the resident called police, according to police reports.

Jarred L. Seymoure, 37, a native of Arkansas, was discovered in a home in the 200 block of Southeast Village Drive, Port St. Lucie at about 8:30 p.m., Oct. 4, according to police reports.

The homeowner confronted Seymoure, convincing him that it was in Seymoure’s best interest to leave, according to police reports.

The homeowner then called 911 and provided a detailed description of the suspect, the direction in which he headed and surveillance video of Seymour on the property.

Police road patrol, drone operators and Officer Robbie Gibbons, handler of K9 Ronin, were dispatched to search for the suspect. Ronin and Gibbons caught up with the suspect within 20 minutes, according to police reports.

Seymoure was taken to the St. Lucie County Jail where he remains on a charge of burglary to an unoccupied structure while unarmed. He is being held in lieu of $10,000 bond.
