Meals on Wheels in Sanford is looking to spread some holiday cheer
With its Adopt a Senior campaign, the nonprofit delivered packaged meals and gift packages to homebound seniors across Seminole County
Meals on Wheels, Etc. volunteers and employees participated in their Adopt a Senior program to bring meals and gift baskets to hundreds of seniors across Seminole County Christmas morning.
The volunteers spent the morning visiting 230 homes.
Meals on Wheels, Etc., delivers meals to people all year round, and has been providing home-delivered meals and transportation services to seniors in Seminole County since the 1970s.
This tradition of giving back on Christmas is something the nonprofit does year after year to bring a smile to people’s faces.
“It’s heartwarming,” said Meals on Wheels, Etc. Executive Director Michael McKee. “It’s a wonderful thing to be here and be able to experience this. What a great way to start Christmas Day by giving to others who may not have everything that you do.”
