Fort Lauderdale, FL – CNN New Year’s Eve Live with Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen is set to showcase Fort Lauderdale’s waterfront festivities during its nationally televised program, placing South Florida in front of millions of viewers across the country.

Local tourism officials confirmed the city was selected to represent the region’s coastal lifestyle and holiday energy during the broadcast.

The daylong celebration will begin earlier on New Year’s Eve at the Museum of Discovery and Science in downtown Fort Lauderdale.

The museum plans to host a family focused event from morning through late afternoon, featuring interactive science activities, music, dance performances, and a themed countdown designed for children and parents.

Organizers say the daytime programming is intended to give families an opportunity to celebrate before evening events begin.

Later that night, CNN’s live segment will shift attention to Fort Lauderdale’s waterfront.

The segment is expected to highlight the city’s boating culture, skyline, and New Year’s atmosphere along the Intracoastal Waterway.
