A resident reported that a group of men came onto her property and stole $40,000 worth of elevator equipment from her construction site. Officer Marston was able to track down a lead from one of the security videos and determined the men were employees of the elevator company. It turns out the complainant never paid the deposit for the elevator and cancelled the contract after delivery, so the employees returned and repossessed the expensive parts of the elevator.
The manager of a local business requested that a person be trespassed because he was being disruptive and belligerent at the store.

How We Cover Crime
When the current owners purchased The Gabber Newspaper in 2020, they made many changes. In October 2020, they changed policies on how The Gabber Newspaper handles crime reporting. Take a look at why we made that change, and why we now run the Chief’s report as we do.
Officers were called to the area of Clam Bayou because two men got into an argument about a dinghy being tied to the seawall. Officers mediated the argument, and the men went their separate ways.
A man in the small dog park began an argument with a woman who was bringing her two dogs inside, which he believed were too big. The woman left the location to prevent further issues.
While checking Wood Ibis Park after hours, Officer Mills found a woman sleeping in the gazebo. He explained that she is not allowed to sleep in the park overnight. After confirming she had not been warned previously, the woman left the park.

During a child custody drop-off, a verbal altercation began between the mother and father. The father said the mother jumped on his hood, yelling she would call the cops on him. The mother said he struck her with the side mirror. There was insufficient evidence to prove a battery occurred.
A resident reported that her son, with whom she lives, was threatening to sell her items. She is in the process of having him leave the home, as they have been having disputes over money.
A customer reported that he put his cell phone down in a store. While he was doing something else, a man picked it up and left with it.

A resident reported that someone stole the radio from his unlocked truck.
A person reported that a man with four outstanding arrest warrants was at his parents’ house. Contact was made, the warrants were confirmed, and he was arrested.
A resident walked to the police department and reported that a man with a handgun robbed her while she walked north on 55th Street South near 21st Avenue. She said she was pushed down, and her purse and phone were stolen. She did not get a good look at the suspect, just that he was wearing dark clothing.
