A female inmate death is under investigation in Central Florida.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is conducting the investigation surrounding the death of the female inmate.
34-year-old Alexis Brown, an inmate at the Falkenburg Road Jail in Tampa, was discovered unresponsive by deputies. Deputies began lifesaving measures, and Brown was transported to Brandon Regional Hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.
According to local law enforcement, no signs of trauma were observed.
The Medical Examiner’s Office will complete an autopsy to determine a cause of death. Next of kin has been notified.
