The Tampa Bay Lightning and defenceman J.J. Moser have reached an eight-year, $54 million extension, it was announced Saturday evening.

The deal carries an average annual value of $6.75 million and keeps him in Tampa through the 2033-34 season.

The 25-year-old has three goals and nine assists for 12 points in 34 games for the Bolts so far this season while averaging 21:43 of ice time per game.

A native of Biel, Switzerland, Moser has played the previous two seasons with the Lightning after spending his first three with the Arizona Coyotes.

He has 21 goals and 77 assists for 98 points in 293 career NHL regular-season games.
