Five people were hospitalized after a shooting at a popular nightlife area in downtown Fort Lauderdale early Sunday, authorities said.
The shooting was reported around 2 a.m. near the 300 block of Southwest 2nd Street, in an area with multiple late-night bars.
Fort Lauderdale Police said officers responded and found several adult victims, and the scene was secured while the victims were given first aid.
A total of five people were taken to the hospital from the scene by Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue.
Police haven’t released their identities or given their conditions.
Officials said there was no information about a suspect but they believe it was an isolated incident and that there is no threat to the public.
The shooting remains under investigation.
