The Pickleball World Cup is set to be held in Florida, USA, starting October 27, with the final scheduled for November 2. The prestigious global tournament, recognised by the Global Pickleball Federation, will mark its second edition this year. India have sent a 14-member team to participate in the World Cup for the first time, making this a landmark moment for the country’s fast-growing pickleball community. The inaugural edition of the tournament, held in 2024, was won by Puerto Rico, who will return as one of the top contenders this year.

A total of 68 delegations are set to compete in the event, which will feature 17 groups (Group A to Group Q), with four delegations per group. The top seeds for this year’s edition are USA, Puerto Rico, Peru, and Chinese Taipei, with Puerto Rico, Peru, and Chinese Taipei being last year’s medallists.

The remaining delegations will be grouped according to their continental region of origin, ensuring that no more than two countries from the same region are placed in the same group.

The tournament format promises intense competition, with each group playing a round-robin of six matches. Each match will consist of six games, played to 15 points under a rally scoring system, requiring a win by two. The six formats contested will include Women’s Doubles, Men’s Doubles, Mixed Doubles 1, Mixed Doubles 2, Women’s Singles, and Men’s Singles.

In case of a tie, the outcome will be decided by a dramatic “Final Battle” — a singles match featuring four players rotating every three points, adding a unique twist to the high-stakes competition.

Following the group stages, a total of 34 teams will advance to the knockout phase, where all matches will be played to 21 points, win by two.

With participation from 68 nations and the inclusion of India for the first time, the Pickleball World Cup 2025 is set to be a milestone in the sport’s international journey.
