ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., (WFLA) – It feels like fall again at the St. Pete Pier with the annual fall festival almost in full swing.

Event organizers are setting up and are excited to bring the festival back after damage from last year’s hurricanes caused the event to be cancelled.

They are anticipating thousands of people attending.

The Pier is being decorated with pumpkins, hay, fall leaves and colors.

“We’re going to have food trucks, we’re going to have vendors, things for the family, we have a pumpkin patch going on, multiple bands and entertainment throughout the day, as well. Followed by, to end the night, a thousand drones drone show here at the Pier,” said Caitlin Ferkile.

Caitlin Ferkile, with the Pier, said this year’s event means a lot to everyone and feels like a comeback moment after the devastation last year.

“It did get cancelled from the hurricanes, it has been a year. The day we opened the pumpkin patch was a year since the first hurricane hit, but we are so happy to be back at the Pier to celebrate, pretty much a year since this has happened, bring the whole community back together,” she said.

The festival is only on Saturday, October 18, but organizers said it is free for the entire family.

There will be tickets available for purchase for their bouncy house.

“The pumpkin patch is free, the Fall Festival is free, the drone show is free, and the Pier is free to come and enjoy. So, come hang out with us tomorrow,” Ferkile said.

The pumpkin patch will remain open until Sunday, October 19. For more on the event, click here.
