BUCKFIELD, Maine (WABI) – A wanted fugitive from Florida is now behind bars after police say he attempted to hide in Oxford County.
The Oxford County Sheriff’s Office says that Derek Pearson, 41, surrendered without further incident after Oxford County Deputies and Paris Police officers surrounded a home on Brock School Road in Buckfield Saturday morning.
Pearson was wanted for a failure to appear warrant after a probation violation from an underlying kidnapping charge.
Pearson has been charged with being a fugitive from justice.
