In St Petersburg, residents have the request to have their live Christmas tree collected, free of charge. According to a press release from St Petersburg, residents have to request a special pickup by submitting a photo in the SeeClickFix app or by calling the sanitation department at 727-893-7398. Because so many households are opting for an artificial tree, the city is only collecting trees from customers who submit a special pickup request.
Please follow the guidelines below for tree pick up:
Remove any lights, ornaments, garland, tree stands, plastic tree disposal bags, and other decorations. Do not place any Christmas tree accessories in the recycling bin.
Do not place the tree inside trash or recycling containers or lean the tree against electrical poles, trash containers, water meters, etc.
Residents of apartments and condos should check with property managers on proper disposal of all types of Christmas trees.
Collections will take place between December 29, 2025, and February 9, 2026.
St Pete residents also have the option of dropping off their live trees at one of the City’s brush sites listed below. These sites are open from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, seven days a week, and are closed on New Years Day. Residents must bring a photo ID and water bill for proof of residency.
Brush Site Locations:
1000 62nd Ave. NE
7750 26th Ave. N
2500 26th Ave. S
4015 Dr. Martin Luther King St. S
453 20th Ave. N
For artificial trees, residents should place the item in the city trash bin if it fits with the lid closed or submit a special pickup request through the SeeClickFix app with a photo or by calling 727-893-7398.
