Due to strong, gusty winds, the Port of New Orleans has closed the Florida Avenue Bridge. The bridge is closed to car traffic but will remain raised and open to marine traffic.According to the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s Office, normal operations are expected to resume later this afternoon once winds subside. Drivers can take alternate routes, including Judge Seeber (Claiborne Avenue) Bridge – LA 39 and St. Claude Avenue Bridge – LA 46. Motorists are encouraged to plan accordingly and use alternate routes until the bridge reopens.
