Death investigation underway near wooded lot in Fort Pierce

FORT PIERCE, Fla. (CBS12) — The St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office deemed a death investigation in Fort Pierce a suicide.

Deputies with the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office investigated a death on Juanita Ave. in Fort Pierce on Saturday.

A passerby told CBS12 that there is a heavy law enforcement presence, including multiple patrol units and fire rescue trucks stationed near a densely wooded lot.

On Dec. 29, the sheriff’s office said that the death was ruled as a suicide.
