He adds, “I love to see the students be creative and come out of their shell and sometimes feel like movie stars. They’re proud of their work. I love seeing that from them.”

Thompson has been an educator for 20 years.

He said he remembers the very moment the idea of a career in the classroom for him clicked.

“I think I knew this was the career for me when I was teaching elementary school,” he said. “We would do movie projects. The students would create stories, book trailers, and I saw how it made them feel to see themselves on screen. “

He said he felt the same vibe coming to Bridgewater Middle School.

“And seeing the feel around the campus and seeing students be so excited about being on camera and filming,” Thompson said. “And proud of their work – yeah it’s been fun.”

He is especially proud to see students step out of their comfort zone and learn new skills especially at their age. He says, “You never know what hidden talent and potential are in these kids. I hope that my students leave with confidence and through all the times that we’ve had together that they had fun.”

He adds, “I think education unlocks unlimited possibilities.”
