A freeze watch will be in effect late today into Wednesday for portions of Hernando County and northward, along with north-central areas of the state. Cold weather shelters in Pasco, Pinellas, and Hillsborough counties will open.

Weather delays impact Tampa International Airport

According to airline officials, 30% to 35% of inbound and outbound flights are affected at Tampa International, Sarasota-Bradenton, and St. Pete-Clearwater airports. Airport staff advise all travelers to monitor airline websites for the most up-to-date information.

Chris Young reports ten candidates will be whittled down to a shortlist sent to Governor Ron DeSantis for his choice to replace Justice Charles Canady.

HB 917, filed by Spring Hill republican Jeff Holcomb comes as state health officials look to do away with certain vaccine mandates for schoolchildren.

The Orlando Sentinel reports that two dead swans were found on Dec. 23, with the number growing to 12 by Sunday. Necropsies will be performed. Prior to the recent deaths, the swan population at the park was estimated to be between 50 and 60.
