TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – The Florida Supreme Court announced the six final nominees to fill a Supreme Court Justice vacancy.
Among them is Robert Long, a Tallahassee judge who has practiced law since 2008.
Long attended Tallahassee Community College, Florida State University and the University of Florida before joining a U.S. Navy Officer School.

He currently serves in the First District Court of Appeal. Long previously serve as general counsel for the Leon County Sheriff’s Office.
The Florida Supreme Court Judicial Nominating Commission interviewed ten judges for the position before certifying six to Governor Ron DeSantis to fill the seat created by the resignation of Justice Charles Canady.
The other five nominees are Roger Gannam, John Guard, Joshua Mize, Samuel Salario and Adam Tanenbaum.
