ESTERO, Fla. (WINK) – A fire started the backyard of a mobile home and spreading underneath the home after FPL power lines fell, Estero Fire told WINK News.
The homeowner reported hearing a series of popping noises and the home’s smoke alarm was triggered. No injuries were reported.
Both Estero Fire and San Carlos Park Fire departments arrived on the scene around 4:30 a.m. evacuating the homeowner and knocking down the fire until power could be shut off. FPL arrived at approximately 5:10 a.m. to shut off the power.
WINK News has reached out to FPL to learn the cause of the fallen power lines.
