Not long after the clock struck midnight and 2026 had arrived, hospitals in Miami-Dade and Broward greeted some of the newest South Florida residents with the arrival of several New Year’s babies.
Memorial Regional Hospital welcomed its first baby of the year at 12:16 a.m. when Baby Isaiah was born weighing 6 pounds, 1.7 ounces and 19 inches long.
Both Isaiah and mom Donnica Hayes were doing well.
Baptist Health welcomed its first baby of 2026 at 12:41 a.m. at South Miami Hospital with the birth of Sienna, who was 8 piunds, 2 ounces and 19.6 inches.
Sienna and mom were said to be resting comfortably.

And Jackson Health System welcomes its first 2026 newborns, with a baby boy born at Jackson North Medical Center at 1:36 a.m. weighing 8 pounds, 1 ounce, and a baby girl born at Jackson Memorial Hospital at 3:47 a.m. weighing 5 pounds, 7 ounces.
