South Florida hospitals were celebrating the births of the first babies born in the new year on Thursday.

Eden Skye Garrido was the first baby born in Miami, arriving at 12:14 a.m., weighing 7 pounds, 10 ounces.

She was born at HCA Florida Mercy Hospital and is the third child of proud parents Megan Garrido and Ari Garrido, who have been married for nine years.

The couple said they are “happy, exhausted, and excited,” to ring in the new year with their new baby by their side.

Baby Isaiah (Memorial Regional Hospital)

Isaiah was born just two minutes later at 12:16 a.m. at Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood. The healthy baby boy weighs 6 pounds, 1.7 ounces and is 19 inches long.

And over at South Miami Hospital, a baby girl named Sienna was born at 12:41 a.m., weighing 8 pounds and 2 ounces. She is 19.6 inches long. Both mom and baby are said to be resting comfortably.

Meanwhile, Jackson Health confirmed that a baby boy was born at 1:36 a.m. at Jackson North Medical Center, weighing 8 pounds and 1 ounce, and a baby girl was born at 3:47 a.m., weighing 5 pounds, 7 ounces.

Broward Health confirmed Iris Derilus was their first baby born in 2026.

The baby girl was born at 7:26 a.m. at Broward Health Medical Center. She weighs 8 pounds, 6 ounces.

Iris is the second child of her parents, Fridline Merone and Berno Derilus, of Coral Springs.
