Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom’s relationship ended very recently, and though Perry has already moved on with former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, the lives of the former couple are still very much intertwined. And they will remain so, no matter how much time has passed. That’s what happens when you have kids together. But how is their relationship right now, and does it affect Perry’s new romance?
Well, Perry missed Trudeau’s birthday celebrations in this, their first year of being together, to reportedly spend Christmas with Bloom and their daughter, Daisy Dove. According to The Sun, the two were seen at London’s Savoy Theatre to watch Paddington The Musical with their daughter Daisy Dove and Bloom’s son, Flynn.

“It was all happy families between Katy and Orlando at The Savoy,” an onlooker said. “They were getting on really well for the sake of the family and their kids were being super-cute.” The two also reportedly visited Winter Wonderland with friends.
Trudeau’s 54th birthday was on Christmas Day. The outlet reported he spent it partying on a yacht with friends, in the Caribbean.
A source close to the ex-couple revealed to People that they’re trying hard to keep their co-parenting relationship afloat. “They’re both super committed to keeping this family dynamic,” the source says, adding that it’s “all amicable and pretty easy.”
They also recognize that their “busy careers” keeps them in check with a lot of traveling involved, and that it “takes another kind of commitment.” However, they’re “doing a great job at figuring it all out” for their little one.
All of this comes after reports that Trudeau and Perry’s relationship is serious, with their families having already met, according to the National Enquirer. The two are “crazy about each other,” an insider claimed, adding, “This isn’t a fling.” Trudeau and Perry were first rumored to be dating very soon after Perry announced her split from ex-fiancé, Bloom, in July 2025.
“Katy’s daughter, Daisy, has spent time around Justin. And his three kids — Xavier, Ella-Grace, and Hadrien — have met Katy,” a source shared. “It was warm. It was easy. The kids clicked instantly.”
But of course, merging the families completely will still take time, so it makes sense that Perry chose to focus on her daughter during the holidays. And that meant spending time with Bloom. There’s no confirmation of if Trudeau spent time with his own children before he went on to celebrate his birthday. He and his former wife, Sophie Grégoire, who split up in 2023, share 3 kids: Xavier, 17, Ella-Grace, 16, and Hadrien, 11.
Grégoire recently opened up about her ex’s new romance and how she was dealing on the podcast “Arlene is Alone,” saying, “You know, we’re human beings and stuff affects us,” adding, “How you react to stuff is your decision. So, I choose to try to listen to the music instead of the noise.”
She also explained that she’s “very aware that a lot of public stuff out there can be triggers.” But, “what I do with it is my decision. The woman I want to become through this is my decision.”
Trudeau’s ex also confirmed that, breakup aside, the former Canadian PM is still not just in contact, but very much involved in raising their kids. “I’m definitely not a single mom,” Grégoire said. “I have a partnership with a father who has such deep love and availability to his children.”
