(Cape Coral, FL) — Travis Keith Fehr (DOB 05/30/1998) was arrested by officers of the Cape Coral Police Department on September 30, 2025, for Aggravated Animal Cruelty after responding to a report of suspicious circumstances involving the abuse of household cats.
On the evening of September 30, officers responded to a report from a caller who witnessed, via installed home security cameras, her boyfriend punching her cat while she was away from the residence. Officers met with the caller down the street, who appeared visibly distraught and stated that her boyfriend was beating up her cats. Officers then returned to the residence and made contact with Travis Keith Fehr.
The caller stated the night prior, she observed one of her cats with some “weird injuries” to include an injured leg. She asked Fehr what happened, and he stated the two cats got into a fight and that is how the cat was injured. Suspicious of Fehr’s explanation, the caller set up a camera in the room where the cats normally stay in. While she was not home, she observed Fehr pull one of the cats out from under the bed, hold it on the ground and punch it repeatedly. Officers reviewed the video footage and corroborated these actions. Fehr later sent texts to the caller apologizing for hitting the cat.
Officers observed notable injuries to the cat, including blood in and around the animal’s mouth. Both cats were transported to a veterinary clinic following the incident.
Based on the investigation, Travis Fehr was arrested and charged with the following:
–1 count in violation of Florida State Statute 828.12 (2), Aggravated Animal Cruelty, a third-degree felony.
The Cape Coral Police Department remains committed to the safety and welfare of all residents and their animals.
