TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Rain is falling for some to start your Saturday. More heavy storms are possible through this evening.
🌧️Starting Saturday with rain:
The first round of rain is developing and moving through South Georgia, bringing showers to the Big Bend by midday. As you head out the door this morning, be sure to grab the rain gear. As for the outside temperature, it is mild and slightly humid.
⛈️Afternoon storms, some strong:
Another push of showers and storms are expected this afternoon along a cold front. The best chance for the second round will be between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Most of the area will NOT see strong to severe storms, just rain with a few rumbles of thunder. If a storm or two gets strong, it could bring winds between 40 to 60 mph, small hail, or a brief tornado. Rainfall totals between 0.25″ to 0.50″ through this evening.
The area is still under a severe to extreme drought, so we need the rain. Just without the severe weather.
😎Drier Sunday:
The cold front passes through the southeast and will usher in some brighter skies for the second half of your weekend. Morning low near 50. Highs in the upper 60s.
🌡️Turning above-average next week:
Temperatures rapidly warm throughout the week. Expecting highs above average in the low to mid 70s. Partly sunny skies with only very low rain chances by the end of the week.
