TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – As many people ring in the new year, some are setting goals or resolutions for 2026 with optimism.
The Pew Research Center reported that young adults are most likely to make New Year’s resolutions. The organization also suggested that health and wealth were among the most popular topics for goal-setting.
“I feel good about the new year,” Leah Thomas said. She also agreed on wealth being a goal for the year.

As a fitness and wellness coach, Ricky Mac said he is looking forward to 2026 and encourages people to prioritize their health. “Consider a lifestyle change,” he said. “Try to walk three times a week and then increase that to four times a week, and then increase the duration and time.”
He also suggested people focus on what they’re consuming to help create overall wellness. “There are different types of foods you can incorporate that are healthier. Fresh is best,” he said. “Just find a balance of what you can achieve and what you can afford.”
