Florida State transfer tight end Randy Pittman Jr. was one of a handful of players to visit Auburn this weekend.
He’s a target at a major position of need for Auburn, as the Tigers are only set to return one scholarship tight end from the 2025 roster. They signed freshman DJ Broughton, but will likely sign multiple transfers to fill out the room.
Pittman still has visits lined up with SMU and South Carolina, he told a small group of reporters on Saturday, and plans on making a decision sometime after his South Carolina visit on Jan. 7.
“I’m just looking to continue to grow and just make sure I’m making the right decision for me,” Pittman said. “I’m just going through that process the next few days and being able to have a clear mind when I’m making the decision.”
Pittman was complimentary when talking about new head coach Alex Golesh and tight ends coach Larry Scott. When asked what stood out to him about Auburn, Pittman said, “mostly the people.”
“I think the love felt genuine,” he added.
A junior from Panama City, Florida, Pittman caught 23 passes for 208 yards and two touchdowns for Florida State this season. He started his career at UCF, spending two seasons there and catching 51 passes for 631 yards and three touchdowns over the two years.
The transfer portal officially opened at 11 p.m. CT on Thursday night and will remain open until Jan. 16.
