The Jacksonville Jaguars easily handled the Tennessee Titans, cruising to a 41-7 victory Sunday in Jacksonville. With the win, the Jaguars won the AFC South for the first time since 2022 and kept their hopes alive for the No. 1 seed in the AFC.
The Jaguars entered Sunday in the driver’s seat for the division crown, but their margin for error was thin. Had the Jaguars laid an egg and the Houston Texans won their game against the Indianapolis Colts, the Jaguars would have fallen to a wild-card spot. Instead, the Jaguars are guaranteed a top-three seed in the AFC.
Jacksonville’s seed will depend on the late afternoon results for the Denver Broncos and the New England Patriots. If the Broncos lose their game against the Los Angeles Chargers and the New England Patriots lose at home to the Miami Dolphins, the Jaguars will capture the No. 1 seed and a first-round bye. If only one of the Broncos and Patriots loses, then the Jaguars will be the No. 2 seed. If the Broncos and Patriots both win, the Jaguars will enter the playoffs as the No. 3 seed.
If the Jaguars are not the No. 1 seed, their wild-card opponent could be Chargers, Texans or Buffalo Bills, depending on how the remainder of Sunday’s games go.
Trevor Lawrence stays hot
Since entering the NFL in 2021 as one of the most hyped players of the 21st century, Lawrence is perhaps playing his best football as a professional heading into this postseason. Lawrence is three weeks removed from tossing a career-high five touchdowns in a win over the New York Jets. He’s had six games in his career rushing for multiple touchdowns, and half of them have come this season, including two against the Colts in Week 17.
Lawrence finished the regular season on a comfortable high note, completing 22 of his 30 pass attempts for 255 yards and three touchdowns. With his third touchdown pass against the Titans, Lawrence set a new Jaguars’ single-season touchdown record, breaking Blake Bortles’ mark of 37 total touchdowns (35 passing, two rushing) in 2015. Lawrence finished the 2025 season with 29 passing touchdowns and nine rushing scores for a total of 38 touchdowns.
In addition to Lawrence being on a roll, the Jaguars are one of the hottest teams in the NFL entering the postseason. They enter the playoffs on an eight-game winning streak, which trails only the Texans, who have won nine consecutive games.
Cam Little connects from deep again
Cam Little’s potential from distance has been well-known since he knocked in a 70-yard field goal in the 2025 preseason opener for the Jaguars. Little officially etched his name in the record books when he made a 68-yard field goal against the Las Vegas Raiders on Nov. 2 on the final play of the first half.

On Sunday, the Titans went for a fourth-and-8 from their own 49-yard line with nine seconds remaining in the first half. They failed to convert the fourth down, leaving three seconds on the clock with the ball right around midfield. The Jaguars sent out Little to try the 67-yard field goal, which he not only made to give the Jaguars a 31-7 halftime lead, but also capped it off with a fun celebration.
Although Dallas Cowboys kicker Brandon Aubrey has become somewhat of a poster child for long-distance kicks, it’s Little who now has longest and second-longest kicks in NFL history.
