WHITE SPRINGS, Fla. (WCTV) – A 35-year-old Lake City man was shot and later died in the Town of White Springs overnight Saturday, according to a Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office press release.
Towards the end of an authorized block party, HCSO said deputies and assisting agencies responded to reports of the sound of gunfire in the area of Mill Street and Adams Memorial Drive at about 12:53 a.m.

When crews arrived, they found Tad Anderson, a resident of Lake City, with gunshot wounds, per HCSO. The man later died due to his injuries despite aid from HCSO deputies and EMS.
The investigation is currently active and ongoing as HCSO works with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) and the 3rd Judicial Circuit State Attorney’s Office (SAO), per the press release.
Deputies ask that anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information regarding the incident call HCSO or FDLE.
