TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – A Tallahassee man was arrested for firing nearly 60 rounds into the air on New Year’s Day, according to arrest papers.
Documents show Eddric Murray was shooting a semi-automatic pistol into the air on Gaile Avenue.
Murray is charged with discharging a firearm in public and tampering with physical evidence, according to arrest documents(Leon County Jail)
Arrest papers show that when an officer arrived, Murray was found in the backyard of a home dumping what was found to be shell casings into a box.
Murray told police he “was just shooting in the air” and “celebrating the first,” according to arrest papers.
In total, officers found 59 shell casings in the box and on the ground in the area.
Murray is charged with Discharging a Firearm in Public or on Residential Property and Tampering with Physical Evidence.
