TAMPA, Fla. –  Fire officials are still trying to determine what sparked a large fire Monday in the parking garage of the Grand Hyatt in Tampa.

Upon arrival, crews encountered a heavy column of black smoke and upgraded the response to a second alarm.

Firefighters found multiple vehicles involved in a fire on the second floor inside the garage. 

The fire was under control in about an hour and contained to one floor of the garage. The fire did not require a hotel evacuation and did not extend to the hotel structure.

Early reports indicate approximately 10 vehicles sustained significant damage. Code Enforcement was called to evaluate the structural integrity of the parking garage.

There were no injuries.

At this time the 2-Alarm fire is in the early clearing stages. 10 vehicles sustained significant damages. TFR investigators are working alongside TPD to determine vehicle owners. No reported injuries at this time. pic.twitter.com/5TfgGUkybB
