Pedestrian struck on 66th Street dies at hospital | Crime, Crashes and Fires

PINELLAS PARK — A 28-year-old woman died after she was struck by an SUV while crossing a Pinellas Park street outside of a crosswalk, police said.

Kendall Wilson was hit around 8:10 p.m. Dec. 28 as she tried to cross the 11700 block of 66th Street North, according to the Pinellas Park Police Department. She died at a local hospital.

Police said Wilson walked into the path of a black Mercedes SUV traveling south on 66th Street. The driver, Scott Almquist, 66, of Duxbury, Mass., and his passenger, Holly Almquist, 69, were not injured.

Speed and impairment were not factors in the crash, police said. Wilson was listed as a transient.
