A new report from the moving company UHaul found that Florida was the No. 2 “growth state” in the country.

The company analyzed 2.5 million one-way transactions to see how many moving trucks arrived in a state versus departed from a state. The rankings were based on each state’s net gains or losses.

For Florida, 50.6% of customers in 2025 were entering the state and 49.4% were leaving.

The Sunshine State was preceded only by Texas, which had 50.7% of customers entering the state versus 49.3% leaving.

Florida saw more in-migration this year compared to last year, when it ranked 4th on the list. Customers arriving in Florida rose 2% year-over-year while departures rose 1%.

Still, the numbers fell short compared to 2019, when Florida was the No. 1 growth state on the list.

California was the last on the list for the sixth consecutive year.
