TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – A bicyclist is seriously injured after a collision with a sedan on Capital Circle SW on Monday evening, according to a press release from the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash unfolded at 5:30 p.m. when the vehicle and bicyclist approached the intersection of Capital Circle SW at Southern Street from opposite directions, according to FHP.
“[The vehicle] slowed in traffic before pulling into the parallel median to turn left onto Southern Street,” according to FHP.
As the car turned onto the roadway, the bike entered the intersection where the two crashed, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.
“[The vehicle] collided with [the bicycle], causing the bicyclist to be thrown onto the hood of [the vehicle], impacting the windshield and landing in the roadway,” per FHP troopers.
Law enforcement said the car and bicycle stopped in the eastbound Capital Circle SW travel lane, with the vehicle facing south on Southern Street.

The 59-year-old bicyclist suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital, according to FHP.
The 60-year-old driver did not sustain any injuries, law enforcement said.
The crash remains under investigation.
