BUT AFTER TODAY’S CAPE CORAL COUNCIL MEETING THAT WILL SOON CHANGE TODAY, THE CITY IS EXPECTED TO APPROVE A CONTRACT WITH A COMPANY THAT WILL OVERSEE THE PROJECT TO ADD SIDEWALKS TO BOTH SIDES OF ANDALUCIA BOULEVARD. AND ALSO ON THE WEST SIDE, A SKYLINE BOULEVARD, THE CONTRACT WOULD COST UP TO $378,000. THE MONEY WILL COME FROM A STATE TRANSPORTATION GRANT AND NOT OUR TAX DOLLARS. THE STATE ALSO SIGNED OFF BEFORE THE CITY MOVE FORWARD. OFFICIALS SAY THIS PROJECT IS ALL ABOUT MAKING THE STREETS SAFER. FOR THOSE LIVE AND WORK IN THE AREA. Cape Coral city officials are expected to approve a contract Wednesday to add sidewalks to both sides of Andalusia Boulevard and the west side of Skyline Boulevard, aiming to improve safety for pedestrians and cyclists.The contract, which will cost up to $378,000, will be funded by a state transportation grant, not local tax dollars.
