PORT ST. LUCIE − A man in the Republic of Cyprus was arrested last month following a case that involved Port St. Lucie Police and “resulted in the rescue of a young girl who was being sexually abused,” according to police.
Port St. Lucie Police learned Dec. 2 of the arrest of Adam Daniel Lea, 45, from Limassol, Cyprus, following allegations he was “seeking out other adults with like minded desires online and exchanging child pornography.”
Cyprus is an island in the eastern Mediterranean.
Port St. Lucie Police reported Lea had been communicating unknowingly with an undercover Port St. Lucie police detective.
“While communicating with the detective, he shared disturbing and dangerous thoughts,” police stated. “Furthermore, his sexual abuse of a child had been occurring for many years.”
Police said the investigation moved quickly, and ultimately authorities in Limassol, Cyprus, found the child and took Lea into custody.
