Emergency crews are on the scene of a fire involving a semitruck carrying propane tanks on Florida’s Turnpike Wednesday morning. It happened on the southbound lanes near mile marker 168 in Fort Pierce, between the Fort Drum Service Plaza and the Port St. Lucie–Fort Pierce Service Plaza.The Florida Highway Patrol says the driver was outside of the vehicle unharmed.Video from traffic cameras showed large flames around 6:15 a.m.The St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office responded to the fire at 6:25 a.m., and the St. Lucie County Fire District contained the blaze. At one point, both directions of the highway were shut down. According to Florida 511, as of 8:09 a.m., the northbound lanes have reopened.
