TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Several law enforcement agencies are investigating “threatening calls to schools,” according to a Tallahassee police statement.
The calls reference bomb threats and potential shootings and have been determined to not be associated with a credible or active threat, police said.
The Leon County Sheriff’s Office and Tallahassee State College Police Department joined TPD in the investigation.
The law enforcement statement said there was a “series of threatening phone calls made to several schools in the Tallahassee/Leon County area.”
According to a spokesperson for LCSO, the phone calls were likely AI generated.
“At this time, there is no indication of an imminent danger to students, staff, or the community,” the statement said. “Law enforcement remains in close contact with affected schools, their security personnel and continues to provide guidance and support.”
