If you want to attend the College Football Playoff National Championship between Miami and Indiana, you’ll have to be willing to spend top dollar.

On Thursday night, Miami punched its ticket to the national title game by defeating Ole Miss in a 31-27 thriller. Carson Beck scored the game-winning touchdown for the Hurricanes with 18 seconds remaining. Indiana then secured its spot in the final game of the season by dismantling Oregon in the Peach Bowl. Fernando Mendoza had 177 passing yards and five touchdowns in the team’s 56-22 victory.

“There was a lot of skepticism after last year, that we were a fluke,” Indiana head coach Curt Cignetti said. “That [2024] team did a lot of great things and got it all started. That team never trailed until the ninth game of the year, and when it did, 10-0 in the first quarter up at Michigan State, they scored 47 straight. … I think a lot of that negative stuff in the media fueled the guys returning from this team, and we added some real key pieces.”

Although we’re still over a week away from seeing Miami and Indiana clash at Hard Rock Stadium, the anticipation for this matchup is growing.

“The ticket for the National Championship Game is going to be a fortune,” Darren Rovell of cllct said. “Miami hasn’t won a title in 24 years and is playing in their home stadium. Indiana has the largest living alumni base of any school.”

Rovell wasn’t kidding about ticket prices costing a fortune. The cheapest ticket on SeatGeek is currently listed at $3,796. The get-in price on TicketMaster, meanwhile, is listed at $4,083.

Suffice to say, the Miami-Indiana game will be the hottest ticket college football has seen in quite some time.

Who has the edge?

Even though Miami has looked great at times in the CFP, most people are going to pick Indiana to win the national championship. Oddsmakers currently have the Hoosiers as a 7.5-point favorite.

It’s tough to pick against Indiana right now. Cignetti’s squad has outscored its opponents 94-25 during the CFP this season.

The national championship will take place on Jan. 19. Kickoff will be at 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.
