After withdrawing his name from the 2026 NFL Draft, former Auburn wide receiver Eric Singleton Jr. is transferring to the Florida Gators, according to Pete Nakos of On3. Singleton is one of the six Auburn receivers who left the program after the 2025 season.
Singleton came to the Tigers as a transfer from Georgia Tech in 2025. He was a star receiver for the Yellow Jackets for two seasons before entering the transfer portal for the first time. During his time in Atlanta, Singleton caught 104 passes for 1,468 yards and nine touchdowns. He was one of the most sought-after transfer receivers last year, and the pairing with Cam Coleman had Auburn fans believing they would have one of the best passing attacks in college football. Like the rest of the offense, Singleton did not meet expectations.
At Auburn, he caught 58 passes but just for 534 yards with a 9.2 yards per catch average. He scored just three touchdowns, and the Tigers did not take advantage of his speed for downfield plays. His best game of the 2025 season was against the Vanderbilt Commodores. In the 45-38 overtime loss, Singleton caught 11 passes for 102 yards and one touchdown. That was his only game with Auburn with more than 100 yards.
He will be joining Marcus Davis, who left Auburn to take the same position of wide receivers coach with the Florida Gators under new head coach Jon Sumrall. Singleton is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 8 wide receiver in the transfer portal and is listed as a four-star. He will return to Auburn on September 19th when the Tigers host the Gators in the SEC opener.
