LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fla. — Thirty-six games later, the ECNL Florida showcase is in the books.

The annual national event wrapped up on Monday, concluding one of the biggest and best showcases of the year. All six New England clubs from the 2008, 2009 and 2010 age groups attended, playing three games over three days under the Florida sun.

This was my second straight year covering the Florida showcase. It’s a great event to attend because it provides an early-season measuring stick for teams and players. I spent this year focusing on the 2009 and 2010 age groups, as those players are in the midst of their recruiting journeys. Of the 36 total games, I saw 23, which required a lot of fast walking. Three New England teams played simultaneously during most of the time slots.

Still, I learned plenty at this year’s ECNL Girls Florida winter showcase, and a few themes were clear: The 2010 teams looked strong, new players emerged as legitimate prospects, and plenty of other players shone in front of college coaches.

I’ll have positional standouts later this week and next week. But first, here are eight initial takeaways I had from the 2026 ECNL Florida winter showcase.
