To the editor:
A heartfelt thank you from the Friends of Randy of Sanibel (FOROS) for all of the help received to make our first year Island Christmas Tree Sales a success.
Our nonprofit group is grateful for the support from Jerry’s Foods, above all, for granting us space in its parking lot to hold the fundraising sales and to the Sanibel Community Church for allowing us the use of its electricity and water. We thank the Sanibel-Captiva Lions Club members who aided us with the transition after their many years of Christmas tree sales. Big thanks to the Sanibel Fire and Rescue District chief, officers and staff who came to a different rescue, making the unloading of the 100 trees a breeze on delivery day. Thanks also to local artist Rachel Pierce for designing our banner.
And we couldn’t have done it without the many friends, volunteers and FOROS members who pitched in, including volunteer Wells Fargo staff fulfilling their commitment to community service. And a big shout out to Randy’s son, Brian, for being there all the way through, day in and day out, and doing an amazing amount of behind-the-scenes physical work to make it all happen.
And of course, we thank all of the islanders and visitors who bought trees to help us raise money for this year’s chosen charity, the Sanibel Sea School.
Already looking forward to next year and hope to see everyone again and more!
Thank you from FOROS President Randy Carson and all of the Friends of Randy of Sanibel.
