The FSU Seminoles are set to lose a member of their 2026 recruiting class. Three-star defensive lineman Damaad Lewis announced Monday on social media that he was decommitting.
“I want to take a moment to thank God and my family who supported me through this recruitment process,” he wrote. “It’s been a long year but I’m ready to get to work. With that being said, I have decided to decommit from FSU and my recruitment is 100% back open.”
Since Lewis signed with the Seminoles in December, they will have to release him from his paperwork, which schools nearly always do.
Lewis was a late addition to the class, with them extending him a scholarship offer in August. They then hosted him on an official visit in October, and he committed to them on Nov. 23, 2025, over the Nebraska Cornhuskers. He recorded 42 tackles, 7.0 tackles for a loss, and 4.0 sacks as a senior.
He is ranked as the No. 463 overall player and No. 49 defensive lineman in the 247Sports composite rankings. The Charlotte native is also the No. 21 player from North Carolina.
FSU’s 2026 recruiting class is now down to 32 members, including nine along the defensive line. Lewis is the ninth player to decommit from FSU in the 2026 recruiting class.
