A detainee at the Florida immigration detention center known as “Alligator Alcatraz” dropped his lawsuit against state officials over allegations that he was being held “effectively ‘off the grid’” as he waited to be deported.

Judge Kyle C. Dudek of the US District Court for the Middle District of Florida on Monday signed the detainee’s request for dismissal after the man, named only as “M.A.” in court documents, filed a notice to voluntarily end the proposed class action. Both documents have been sealed.
