The League of Women Voters (LWV) of Sanibel will host its next luncheon of the season on Jan. 21 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Sundial Beach Resort & Spa, at 1451 Middle Gulf Drive, Sanibel.

Guest speaker and attorney Indera DeMine, with the DeMine Immigration Law Firm, will discuss “2026 Immigration Realities: What Floridians Should Know — Enforcement, Employment & Investor Visas.”

She will cover the realities of immigration and immigrants in the United States under the current administration, with a focus on the policy and impacts seen in Florida today; what legal avenues of immigration to the United States are still open; how the changes can impact the state economy; and trends looking forward.

DeMine is widely respected for her expertise in investor visas, intracompany transfers, visas for Canadian professionals, employment-based immigrant petitions, family immigration, waivers, and humanitarian forms of relief. In addition to her business and employment based practices, her firm provides comprehensive removal defense representation, advocating for clients in Immigration Court proceedings and before the Board of Immigration Appeals.

The cost is $35 per person and includes lunch. To honor young working fellow Sanibelians, the LWV of Sanibel is offering a reduced cost this season of $10 per person for those under the age of 40.

Payment by cash or check can be made at the door.

Registration is required by Jan. 16.
