Heritage Village to feature local author

LARGO — Local author Donna Parrey has announced that her latest children’s picture book, Wonderful Thunderful Rain, has been selected to be featured for “Pages in the Park” at Heritage Village for the month of January. Visitors are able to walk the park to read pages and view illustrations from her book that have been mounted on posts along the trail.

“Many families might relate to having children or pets that react to thunder,” Parrey said. “I hope my book can help alleviate their fears and help them learn that Wonderful Thunderful Rain is part of a cycle that helps the earth provide us with delicious, nutritious food.”

A reading of Wonderful Thunderful Rain with children’s activities is scheduled on Saturday, Jan. 24, 10:30 a.m.-noon at Heritage Village. Kids will be able to create “portable storms” with construction paper clouds, lightning bolts, and rain. Coloring pages will also be available. Parrey will be selling and signing Wonderful Thunderful Rain at the event.

Heritage Village is located at 11909 125th St N, Largo.
