Rotary Runs the Beach set for March

The Rotary Club of Indian Rocks Beach will host the annual Rotary Runs the Beach 5K & 1 Mile Run/Walk on Saturday, March 14, on the beautiful sands of Indian Rocks Beach. This unique event attracted more than 400 participants in 2025.

Last year’s run raised over $30,000, which directly supported the rehabilitation of the Indian Rocks Beach Library, Beach Art Center, Church of the Isles, and Calvary Episcopal Church. Every dollar raised went directly back into the community.

This year major sponsor of the walk/run is once again Crabby Bills, however, there are still opportunities to become a sponsor. To register for this year’s event, or to obtain information on how you/your company can be a sponsor, follow the link https://runsignup.com/Race/FL/IndianRocksBeach/RotaryRunsTheBeach

St. Pete Beach noted for budget presentation

The city of St. Pete Beach has been recognized with the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award, a national honor said to reflect the city’s commitment to excellence, transparency, and accountability in governmental budgeting.

The award was presented by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA). It represents a significant achievement and underscores the dedication of the City Commission, leadership, and staff to maintaining the highest standards in financial planning and public communication.

To earn this distinction, the city’s budget document was evaluated against rigorous, nationally recognized criteria for effective budget presentation. The guidelines assess how well the budget serves as a policy document, financial plan, operational guide, and communications tool. Budget documents must be rated “proficient” in all four areas and meet 14 mandatory criteria to qualify for the award.

“This recognition speaks to the professionalism, integrity, and collaborative effort of our entire finance team,” said Frances Robustelli, city manager of St. Pete Beach. “Our residents expect transparency and sound fiscal stewardship, and this award confirms that we are meeting—and exceeding—those expectations.”
