Florida State continues to add to its safety position. Pete Nakos of On3 has reported that Duke transfer Ma’khi Jones has signed with the Seminoles with three years of eligibility remaining.
Jones entered the portal on Monday, which didn’t allow him to have a rating on 247Sports transfer rankings. He’s a former three-star recruit of Georgia in the 2025 class.
The 5-foot-11, 190-pounder had a productive year for the Blue Devils as a true freshman. He played in 14 games and registered 35 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, one sack, one pass breakup, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery as he played 305 snaps.
FSU was able to get safety Ashlynd Barker to return, but he has some competition going into next season. The Seminoles have also added Notre Dame defensive back Karson Hobbs and Illinois State defensive back CJ Richard, who will both add to the safety room as well.
